Watercolor

Gouache is pronounced, gwash. It is an opaque watercolor. Most people are familiar with transparent watercolors (see Apples below). With gouache one can not see through the colors unless they are used very thin. Otherwise they are solid. Both Degas and Toulouse Lautrec used them fairly often.
